I am up at 6 and never thought I would enjoy writing so much. It’s going to be a hectic family Saturday. Today we will apply for our son’s next school a big step in the life of a 10 year old (and the parents who took ages to decide which school would be best ;-))
Outside it is still pitch-black dark and I plan to maximize this day to the full extend.
“Carpe Diem” might be considered a little old-fashioned, a little Dickensian in 2015 but these two words still very much resonate with me.
I love the translations:
In German it is „Nutze den Tag“ which is „Use the day“
Yet in Holland we say “Pluk de dag” which is more like “Pick the day“. As if it was an apple you are picking from a tree – or a flower.
Just found this great slogan from Loesje: “Pluk de dag voor je in een vaas eindigt”. Pick the day before you end up in a vase :-)
Well I sure will pick the day. Actually I am already.
I hope you are seizing your day too!
P.S. I came across this most amusing You Tube video from the band: Seize the day, a folk rock band that sure has something to say.
It sure put a smile on my face. Great way to start the day.
